Greater adjutant storks resting in the landfills they call home. Having never seen scavenger birds up and close, I was stunned by the sheer size of the greater adjutant stork. I know most birds of prey are large but everything about this bird was unexpected and unimaginable.

Where Rain Lilies Bloom
I was fascinated by this beautiful pink flower I had seen first in a nondescript Himalayan hamlet in Uttarakhand. But, it was only recently that I learned it’s called Rain Lily. I instantly loved the name, because the name consists of both – rains and lilies, that makes me smile.
