Himalayan Wilderness

Gaumukh – the snout of the Gangotri Glacier, and the source of river Ganga or the Ganges, deep inside the Gangotri National Park in Uttarakhand. It once resembled the snout of a cow, which explains the name “Gaumukh” or “Gomukh” (which is what the word means in local parlance).

Autumn Colours

“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.”

Such pretty season autumn is, too bad that we don’t experience it as much here in India except for the Himalayan regions up north. I remember traveling to those places (Ah! the good old pre-covid days when we could travel to our heart’s content!) around the fall season and watching the leaves change their colours. And swaying and dancing in the breeze, bright and beautiful, and falling on the ground as if falling in love with the earth.

Zen Doodles

I love colours, but don’t really have a very strong sense of palettes – I use colours, not based on any colour-sense but whatever pleases and makes me happy – and well, that’s really the whole point of art, according to me. I absolutely love pencils, which is why I quite enjoy pencil sketching. Black and white colour scheme is my all-time favourite, even though I love colours.

The Ki Monastery or Kye (Key) Gompa is a beautiful Buddhist monastery located in Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh. It is perched atop a hill, at an altitude of 4166 m above sea level.
